How far in advance can I reserve a unit?

Our units are first come, first serve; however, you can secure an available unit anytime with the proper payment. We may also temporarily hold units for those who set a specific appointment date and time in the very near future.


Do I have to sign a lease, or can I rent a unit on a month-to- month basis?

Our leases are on a month to month basis and do require a signature upon renting.


What do I need to do to get a unit today?

Payment--the $30 administrative fee and your first month's (prorated) rent

A signed month-to-month rental agreement

A valid ID or driver's license

A working phone number, email address, and a current mailing address

A cylinder lock to secure your unit (included with the administrative fee)


What are the days and hours that I may access my storage unit?

You will have access to the property from 6 am to 10 pm every day of the year using your own personalized keypad entry code.  Our gate access is available 365 days a year, seven days a week. The gate will not open after 10 pm so please be out on time.  You will receive a unique code to access the gate and the climate building doors (if applicable).


Can I rent the unit mid-month? Do you prorate?

You can rent a unit anytime at Briarcliff Storage. We prorate the first month’s rent to reflect the day that you begin renting. We do not prorate the last month's rent. If you need to move out before the end of the month or pay for the next month to stay a few extra days, please plan to adjust accordingly.


Do you require insurance on the contents of my storage unit?

You are responsible for the items that you store with us at Briarcliff Storage, and insurance for your stored belongings is highly recommended. For those without insurance coverage, or if you’re looking for a little more protection, affordable storage protection is available through Briarcliff Storage. Our protection plan requires no deductible and is available in various levels of coverage.


How do I make a payment?

Auto Pay - we run your credit card at the beginning of each new rental period (recommended for no late fee)

When is my rental fee due?

Payment is due the first day of each month.  If we have not received your payment by the 5th day of the month, your gate access will be denied, as well as access to your space.  A late fee of $20 will be charged if not paid by the 10th day of the month.  A lien/auction fee of $100 will be added after 32 days past due, and we will proceed with the auction process.


What may I store?

You are not allowed to store hazardous materials in the units.  This includes flammable, toxic, explosives, corrosives, or poisons. Additionally, no food items, including animal feed, should be stored in your unit.  The storage of illegal substances is prohibited. If we suspect that you are storing any of these items, you may be asked to vacate. In the case of illegal materials, authorities could be notified as well.


Does Briarcliff Storage provide locks? Do you keep a key to my storage unit?
A lock is included with your administrative fee at sign up. No one else has a key to that lock – just you. Cylinder locks are usually best purchased at our locations because the versions we sell are customized for our facilities.  Though we recommend ours, you are welcome to use your own long mill cylinder lock.

Cylinder locks are more trusted because they fit tightly into the door itself to eliminate any raised area that can be tampered with. They are housed internally within the storage unit, similar to front door locks in your house or apartment. These cannot be cut, as the locks don’t stick out of the unit door. Like disc locks, they are also strike-proof, drill-proof and pick-proof.

What’s the difference between an indoor unit (climate control) and an outdoor (drive up) unit?

Indoor units are heated and cooled (also called climate control), are protected from the elements and have broad hallways. This allows your items to be stored as if they were still inside your home or office. All our interior units provide a much higher quality of storage than your shed or attic might. Using our heated & cooled units is almost like leaving your items right at home!  


Outdoor drive up units offer the convenience of drive-up access.  These units have no temperature or humidity control. Briarcliff Storage offers both types of units.

Do you offer RV/boat/car/motorcycle parking?
Sorry, we do not have outdoor parking for boats, RVs or other vehicles. Our parking and common areas are limited and need to be available for temporary parking or unloading.

Can I leave my vehicle parked in the lot?

If you are physically on the property, your vehicle can be parked inside our fence or in the parking lot. You may not leave your vehicle unattended or overnight; unattended vehicles, including boats or recreational vehicles, may be booted and/or towed at the owner's expense.


Is the unit big enough for my boat or RV?

We have units in different sizes, and some are big enough to store a car or boat.  A typical car requires a 10x20 unit.


Do you have trucks available to rent for moving?
No we do not offer rental trucks.

What Kind of Security Do You Provide?

Our Computerized Gate Access System only allows authorized people in the secured areas of the property. Our facility is completely fenced and fully lit.  We are equipped with video surveillance cameras. We check the property daily and use the best locks for our storage units. We take pride in security, so our customers don’t have to worry about this. Here’s what we do to ensure the security of our buildings:

  • Motion detectors for lighting

  • Hallways and aisles that are brightly lit

  • Central Monitoring Station for Fire

  • Full time managers

  • Full-time maintenance staff to keep everything clean and well maintained

  • Perimeter fencing

  • A personalized access code for the keypads that open the gates and interior buildings

  • Doors fitted for recessed cylinder locks, designed to withstand break-in attempts

  • You own your lock — only you have keys to unlock and access your storage unit


Do your units have electricity?

No, our units do not have electrical outlets.
